Samford fifth-year senior Karisa Nelson placed second in the women's mile in 4:38.24 at the NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships at her home facility at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. Nelson won the national indoor title in 2017, then missed last season with a fractured metatarsal in her right foot, before returning to earn All-America honors again this season.
